What can we do in Leavenworth?
Leavenworth has something for everyone. Here are a few things you might want to try while visiting Leavenworth.
Rafting: Start at the Icicle River flowing into Leavenworth or take the Wenatchee River. The scenery is spectacular. Whitewater into July; float trips through August, canoeing through October. Visit Osprey Rafting Co.
Climbing: The Leavenworth valley boasts some of the best climbing in Washington state. The Icicle, Tumwater and Peshastin Pinnicles State park have a variety of routes. There is also much to do for the mountaineer in the high alpine peaks of the Enchantments .Visit The Northwest Mountain School
Hiking: The Wenatchee valley is host to hundreds of hiking trails for every ability level. Great vistas abound in this outdoor mecca. Visit WenatcheeOutdoors.org for and excellent recource for hiking and all other outdoor recreation.
Fishing: A variety of fishing is available within a 20-mile radius of Leavenworth & the Wenatchee River; premier game fish (steelhead), trout fishing, high-mountain lakes. Other lakes include Lake Wenatchee & Fish Lake. Visit Icicle Outfitters & Guides to plan your next fishing trip.
Camping: You will find numerous campgrounds within 25 to 30 miles of Leavenworth including a few private campgrounds, many Forest Service campgrounds and the Lake Wenatchee State Park. Visit Go Northwest to plan your next camping trip.
Golf: We are one of the oldest courses in the Northwest, and surrounded by the Cascade mountains and Wenatchee River. It's common to share the course with deer and the skies with eagles. Visit Leavenworth Golf Club for your next tee time.
Winter: Leavenworth is home to a winter wonderland 4 months out of the year. Enjoy downhill skiing and snowboarding, cross country skiing, sleding and snowshoeing in this winter paradise. visit Stevens Pass, Mission Ridge and the Levenworth Winter Sports Club for excellent winter recreation.
Travel: Icicle Station will provide access to and from Leavenworth, and the upper Wenatchee Valley, by utilizing the existing, daily service of Amtrak's Empire Builder. Visit The Icicle Train Station and make your next trip to Leavenworth via train! Icicle Station is currently in development.
Food & Beer: As far as we know there is only one restaurant in town. We hear there are plans for more restaurants in Leavenworth but for now Gustavs is the one and only place to get a bite. So when your done playing come visit Gustavs for your next meal!
